Survey: Dental Implant Patients Report Ongoing Satisfaction

When a patient seeks out DC Smiles in Washington, D.C., Alexandria, Arlington, Fairfax or McLean Va. for dental implants, not only can he or she benefit from Dr. Lawrence Singer’s comprehensive and holistic approach to dentistry, total body wellness, and integrated medicine.

These patients also have the peace-of-mind of knowing that people just like them around the country are overwhelmingly pleased with the results of dental implants.

While one consumer website ranks patient satisfaction with dental implants at 88 percent, research from the National Institutes of Health is even more favorable. That agency’s analysis indicates the dental implant success rate – with patients rating the procedure either good or excellent – is 90 percent.

Many other published studies quote the success rates at  98 percent or better.

At DC Smiles, our patients are almost always happy with dental implants when they maintain regular follow-up visits. We see higher rates of dental implant failure among patients who smoke or struggle with diabetes.

Dental Implants are the leading way of treating cracked or missing teeth or updating worn-out dentures.

Ninety-four percent of dental implant patients would recommend the procedure to friends and family, according to NIH research.  That figure would likely be higher if all dental implants were placed by skilled dentists like Dr. Singer, who has over 20 years of experience and has placed thousands of implants.

One common question posed by dental implant patients: Will it hurt? The NIH study indicates that 15 percent of dental implant patients, or just over one in ten, experience post-procedural discomfort.

That’s right: Dental implant discomfort tends to be minimal to none. If there is any discomfort, it is usually alleviated by a few doses of Tylenol or Advil.

Most patients return to their normal routine in a matter of hours.
