All Porcelain Restorations vs. Porcelain/Metal

Dental Onlay: Molar Dental work no longer has to be conspicuous or dangerous to your well being. Dental alloys contain many substances other than gold that can cause adverse reactions. A doctor wouldn’t attempt to replace a knee or hip with cast alloy because the body would simply reject it. The same principle applies in dentistry. Why should you receive a restoration that could potentially harm your body when aesthetically pleasing inert, biocompatible materials exist? The bottom line is that you shouldn’t. Your appearance and your health are too important.

At DC Smiles, we choose only premier dental materials that wont compromise your smile. Our porcelain crowns, inlays, onlays, and metal-free dental implants are just as strong, reliable, and effective as those made from materials. Best of all, they allow your smile to remain naturally beautiful and all-white.

INLAYS & ONLAYS

Dr. Singer places aesthetic inlays and onlays when decay leaves a hole too large for a conventional filling to restore. Inlays and onlays are made of porcelain and handcrafted in our dental lab to fit a large cavity snugly much like a puzzle piece.

PORCELAIN CROWNS

At DC Smiles, we recommend white, mercury-free crowns made of porcelain. Like onlays and inlays, dental crowns are created in our dental lab for a custom fit. Affixed atop a cracked or extensively decayed tooth, mercury-free crowns restore strength, aesthetics, and function.

Do you see a dark ugly line around your existing crowns? That is a tell tale sign that you have an old crown with metal underneath the porcelain. The black line or metal appears when the gum line recedes. Today, we no longer have to deal with this aesthetic problem because our mercury-free crowns are fully made of porcelain to match your natural tooth shade. Porcelain crowns look great on the day you have them delivered and will continue to look great for years to come.
