Case
#5
Judy grew up in the Midwest when orthodontic
crowding of the teeth was treated with extraction of the
canines (I- teeth). Her remaining teeth never assumed
proper alignment. Her front teeth were protrusive and
had excess spacing and her posterior arch form was collapsed
as can be seen in the pre-treatment photos. An attempt
was made to cure the problem with veneers. However, the
result looked very unnatural, the teeth were square and
“chicklet” like. The unaesthetic veneers were
removed and replaced with temporary crowns. Orthodontic
braces were placed on the temporary crowns to align the
teeth perfectly correcting the overbite, expanding the
upper arch. When the teeth were in alignment the temporary
crowns were replace with all porcelain restorations.
