David smiles a lot but was always unhappy with the color of
his teeth. He tried every type of bleaching system known and
there was no change in the color of his teeth. He also lost
the fourth tooth back on the right side due to decay.
The hopeless upper right tooth was replaced
with an implant and implant crown and the other fron
nine teeth were treated with porcelain laminate veneers of the
lightest shade. The patient requested “I want to be able
to land a plane with these babies when we are done”.
These teeth are the whitest shade of porcelain manufactured,
however they still look real because they have a proper translucency
and anatomy. Tooth anatomy and the anatomy of porcelain restorations
is critical in making the difference in restorations that look
natural and realistic. Only a small minority of porcelain technicians
have an appreciation and ability to capture these qualities.
Dr. Singer is very fortunate and proud to work with a reknown
lab technician who does all of his porcelain work for him.
