Conscious Sedation

Dr. Lawrence Singer is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Surgery at the George Washington University Hospital. This enables him to offer patients who have dental phobias or who are undergoing extensive procedures to be treated while under anaesthesia at either the GWU hospital or the GWUH Ambulatory Surgery Center. Patients can have procedures performed under sedation levels ranging from light sedation to full general anaesthesia. The George Washington University team of highly qualified anaesthesiologists offer the best anaesthesia techniques with the convenience, professionalism and compassion to facilitate your quick return to your usual lifestyle.

In addition to his practice, Dr. Singer served as an Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of Pennsylvania, instructing Doctoral Candidates in all aspects of restorative and cosmetic dentistry. He also has prepared articles on oral healthcare economics for the Swedish Government at the Karolinska Institute, Sweden. "Dr. Singer works with the medical faculty at George Washington University to provide dental and oral health care services as well as provide services for any of his patients with special and challenging dental needs," said Michael DeVallance, Business Director.

For instance, Dr. Singer, a cancer survivor, employs innovative treatments for patients with xerostoma undergoing such treatments as chemotherapy. "Cancer treatment causes most patients to experience a drop in saliva production," said Dr. Singer. "This can cause moderate to severe decay and gum problems. Our techniques address those issues."

George Washington University Hospital is located in Foggy Bottom at 900 23rd Street, NW, Washington, DC 20037. Phone 202-715-4000 or visit www.gwhospital.com for more information about GW Hospital.
